Why a 4x4 is
non-negotiable.
Roads demand it
Skardu's high-altitude routes: Deosai at 4,114m, the Shigar Valley roads, the track into Khaplu: are not built for sedans or standard SUVs. A Land Cruiser Prado with an experienced driver is the minimum standard. We don't compromise on this.
Safety is non-negotiable
Mountain roads have narrow tracks, steep drops, and seasonal landslide debris. Our drivers know every road condition by season and can navigate safely in conditions that would stop most vehicles. Experience matters here more than anywhere.
Comfort for long drives
Skardu to Shigar is 30 minutes. Skardu to Deosai is 2 hours of rough road. Skardu to Khaplu is 3+ hours through stunning valleys. You'll spend a lot of time in the vehicle: it should be a Land Cruiser, not a town car.
Flexibility to explore
With a private 4x4 and driver, you stop when you want, stay longer where it matters, and skip what doesn't interest you. No shared minibus schedules. No waiting for other passengers. The vehicle is yours.
The Fleet
What we provide
Our standard vehicle is the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: the most capable, most comfortable, and most reliable 4x4 on Pakistani mountain roads. On longer trips or for larger groups, we use the Toyota Land Cruiser 200-series or equivalent.
Every vehicle comes with a local expert driver who knows these roads personally. Not a GPS-following hire driver: someone who grew up in these valleys, knows which roads close in which month, and can navigate safely in conditions that change quickly.
Vehicle rental is included as standard in all Raahi tour packages. If you just need a vehicle and driver for specific legs: airport transfers, day trips to Deosai, or a standalone excursion: we can arrange that independently.
