What we collect when you talk to us about a trip, why we need it, who else sees it, and how to get it removed.

Raahi Retreats is a travel business operating from Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. We plan and run private trips through Skardu, Shigar, Khaplu and Hunza. We decide what happens to the information described here, which in data protection language makes us the controller of it.
Reach us at hello@raahiretreats.com or on WhatsApp at +92 339 370 3068. A person reads both.
Only what a conversation about a trip actually needs. Every row below corresponds to something the site really does.
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Your name, WhatsApp number, and email address if you give one | To reply to your enquiry and plan your trip. Without a way to reach you there is nothing we can do with an enquiry. |
| What you tell us about the trip: dates, how many people, budget range, which journeys interest you, and any special requests you write | To build a quote that fits. The budget range and the special requests are free text, so they contain whatever you choose to write. |
| The ages of children travelling with you, and the city you fly from | Ages decide whether a child needs a bed or can share a mattress, which changes the room count and the price. Both are entered by our team from what you tell us, not collected by a form. |
| Your email address if you ask for a guide or subscribe to Field Notes | To send you the thing you asked for. Separate from an enquiry, and you can ask us to remove it at any time. |
| Which page you were on when you tapped a WhatsApp button, where you arrived from, your browser type, and any advertising click identifiers in the link you followed | To know which pages and which adverts actually lead to conversations. This is how we decide what to write next. |
| Your quote and booking record, including payment amounts and method once you book | To run the trip and keep our accounts. |
Worth stating plainly, because several of these are things people reasonably assume.
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything directly from them. When a family books, we record the ages of the children travelling, because a child’s age decides whether they need a bed or can share a mattress, and that changes the rooms and the price. Those ages come from the adult making the booking, not from the child, and we hold nothing else about them.
These companies process data on our behalf so the site and the business can run. Nobody on this list is given your data for their own marketing.
| Who | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts our database. Every enquiry, quote and booking record lives here. | Singapore |
| Vercel | Hosts and serves this website. | Global edge network |
| Google (Analytics 4 and Google Ads) | Measures how the site is used and whether adverts lead anywhere. Sets the cookies listed on our cookie page. | United States and elsewhere |
| Resend | Sends our transactional email, such as a booking confirmation. | United States |
| Sentry | Reports errors so we can fix them. Configured not to send personal data. | United States |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Carries the conversation once you tap a WhatsApp button. Anything you send us there is governed by their terms as well as ours. | Meta global infrastructure |
We also share what a trip needs with the hotels, drivers and guides actually running it. That means your name, your dates and your group size, and nothing more than the property needs to hold the room.
Our database is hosted in Singapore. Some of the companies above operate in other countries, including the United States, so your information may be handled outside Pakistan and outside the country you are reading this from. We choose established providers who publish their own protections, linked in the table above.
We have not put an arbitrary number on this, because a number nobody honours is worse than a rule that is true. What we actually do:
Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@raahiretreats.com, or just say so on WhatsApp in the thread we are already in, which is usually faster. We will not ask why.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the GDPR also gives you the right to object to processing, to ask for your data in a portable form, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Pakistan has no equivalent authority: as of this writing there is no enacted personal data protection law here, and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 is what covers misuse of personal information. We apply the practices above to everyone regardless, because they are the right ones and not because a particular law compels them.
Covered separately and in full detail on the cookie page, including how to turn them off.
If we change what we collect or who sees it, this page changes in the same commit as the code, and the date at the top moves. We do not backdate it.
